HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN SHOP

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
Last week, musicians Tegan and Sara splashed the HRC red logo on the front of their drumset for their appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

The indie-pop due later posted a photo posing with the logo, restating their support for marriage equality.

It read, “Thanks for having us Jay Leno! See us this evening on the Tonight Show, in solidarity for marriage equality and the HRC.”
We’re overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for marriage equality and the community’s embrace of the red logo. Where have you seen the HRC marriage equality logo pop up? Let us know in the comment section below.

As part of YouTube’s annual “Project For Awesome” charity campaign, YouTube researcher Joshua Tabak has posted a personal vlog detailing why he supports HRC and why you should too.

The video, filmed at HRC’s San Francisco Action Center and Store, highlights some of HRC’s broad-ranging achievements and partnernships from this past year, including our victories at the ballot box, continued advances through the CEI, and Lana Wachowski’s moving speech at our San Francisco dinner.

Watch the video below, and be sure to visit HRC’s new Best of 2012 page to learn more about the tremendous accomplishments your commitment and support made possible this year.

Spotted: Passion Pit Bassist Sporting the Human Rights Campaign + ALEX & CHLOE Purple Painted Heart T-shirt in Recognition of Spirit Day.

Fresh off their appearance on Saturday Night Live, Massachusetts-based electrop band Passion Pit popped into Washington, D.C, for a three-day sold-out concert series. Noticeable amongst the blazing lights, throbbing bass and harmonic lyrics was the appearance of an Alex and Chloe for HRC Purple Painted Heart tee on bassist Jeff Apruzzese.  By joining the chorus of musicians and other Americans donning purple in recognition of Spirit Day, Apruzzese, a straight ally,  is making a bold statement against bullying and standing up for bullied youth across this country.

From artists like Ke$ha designing a t-shirt in support of Spirit Day to band members like Luiza Sá of CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) and Apruzzese wearing HRC merchandise during their cross-country concerts, these artists are saying without speaking a word that they not only stand with the LGBT community but they are willing to use their national and international celebrity to bring awareness to the civil rights issue of our time.
